We are a Toronto-based independent film production company with a passion for good storytelling.
A campfire represents an opportunity to share stories. So let's share some. Send an email to email@example.com, and let us know what you or your company are up to. For now keep it simple. We enjoy creating new relationships, so you can count on us getting back to you quickly. Our response will probably include a few more questions, and we'll set a date for our first meeting to get to know each other.
What is the vision you want the whole world to see? We love to do live events, music videos, promotional, and commercial videos. Once we have a solid understanding of your ideas and goals, we'll write up a treatment. This is comprised of a few basic paragraphs that describe what the video direction could be. Up to this point we won't charge you a dime. If you like our idea, fantastic! Let's get started. If not, we're happy to have made a new friend!
We take care of every aspect of production - which includes planning, coordination, scripting, storyboarding, creative direction, production, and post-production. Post-production can involve editing, motion graphics, animation, audio engineering, and music composition. Our company is focused on making sure that your project looks and sounds amazing. Below describes the process that goes into making a video production happen:
You tell us your goals, and we will provide you with ideas. These ideas will turn into a treatment. You approve the treatment and we will produce a working script ready for pre-production.
This is when we figure out what will be needed in order to keep up an organized production. People, Locations, Costumes, Hair + Makeup, Equipment, Food Service, Scheduling… the list goes on.
Let's shoot! For us we like our clients be apart of the experience if it's an option. This way we can discuss the project as it moves forward and communication is a breeze. we will be committed to gathering all of the content that will eventually form your final video.
We've got our content, and now it's on to editing. We have the capabilities to provide you with talented visual effects, digital animation, and music composition. Once a first draft edit has been completed, we will send you a copy to hear your thoughts on how we can make the finished product exactly what you're looking for.
Once the video has been finalized and approved by your team, it's time to process it for delivery! We will provide you with the final product formatted onto a DVD that includes many online formats (such as H.264, FLV, or MP4).
When you hire Campfire for your production, all of our gear is at your disposal. Our Canon DSLR & GoPro units come standard in any quote we provide to you. The only question is, what kind of cameras will your project need in order to properly execute your vision? We have options for you.
Canon DSLR – 1080p
DSLR cameras are used on an ongoing basis, and you will find the quality of the picture absolutely stunning for 1080p resolution. These cameras cater to the bulk of our clients' needs when their content is being streamed for online and television viewing.
RED Epic X – 5K
These are truly among the greatest digital cameras in modern film production. If your project requires the video to be projected onto a massive screen, or if some sweet slow motion styles will be created, then these are the cameras for your production.
These little cameras are fun to use and give viewers some crazy vantage points. They can be used in extreme weather conditions, under water, attached to a car, motorbike, and in just about any other place you could think of. Want an aerial shot 100 feet in the air? We've got a helicopter drone that mounts the GoPro right onto it. Anything is possible!
How long does it take to produce a video?
This really depends on the type of video you want. Sometimes we can produce a film with minimal editing in less than 24 hours; it can take up to a month after the original production date if it's something with lots of intricate graphics and animation.
How much do you charge to start my project?
The industry standard is 50% up front to kick start the project, and 50% on delivery of the completed production.
We already filmed the video. Can we give you the raw footage to edit?
Absolutely! In an ideal world, we want to do the filming ourselves (simply because we have a formula to get the video exactly how we intend it). Using second or third party content sometimes takes the same or even more time because we need to review all of the content provided to us. We would never refuse an opportunity to work with you, but it may not always be the most cost efficient or time saving way to bring the project to life.
If you produce our video and give us the final copy, does this mean we can't make changes later on?
Absolutely not. Most companies charge their clients an archive fee to keep their RAW content on file in their computer systems. At Campfire, we will keep your content on file for a period of 5 years, at no cost to you!
What happens after the 5 years?
Got a hard drive? We will give you all the RAW files at no cost! Arrangements can also be made for long-term storage.
Every project comes with a different price. That's obvious. There are many components to making a great video and sacrificing money over quality is something we avoid. We evaluate based on a few things, like the nature of the creative concept and the resources already available to you. Pricing can range from as little as $1,000 all the way up to $100,000 and beyond. We are a company that wants to put exciting creative content out into the world, while helping your business to grow. At the same time, we also want to be able to put food on the table.
If you're a big corporation, we're not going to be able to sacrifice our creative talent for peanuts. The resources available to a well-funded production help to get things done correctly without squeezing the rates of our talented artists.
Established, well-funded companies: we will work hard to get good bang for your buck, and ensure that you're making a good investment for your company.
Independent startup companies are risk takers. As a young company ourselves, we want to help you reach your goals without putting all of your eggs in one basket. If we love what you're working on and think it's something that we believe is worth investing our time into, then we want to help you succeed.
